Foundation Review: Loreal Paris True Match Lumi

So I wanted to bring you a review of the Loreal Paris True Match Lumi Foundation. This item retails for 9.99 and can be purchased HERE.

So I guess lets talk about the Pros for this product I do like the packaging, I like that it does have a pump, plus it is very sleek and simple. I also love the finish of this product as well. I don't think that this item is over priced for a drugstore item. Really there isn't much else that i enjoy about this.

Here are the Cons: I can't find the perfect shade for my skin tone because it has too much of a pink undertone for me no matter what shade I try, I can make the shade classic ivory work for me. Then also I find that this really is attracted to my dry patches which is weird and I also finds that this takes forever to set on my face and it still feels sticky on my face and slides everywhere, with or without a primer and I have even set it with a powder but that kind of defeats the purpose, AMIRIGHT? haha anyways this is just a quick review for me for this wonderful Saturday.

If you guys can think of anyway this product might work for me let me know in the comments! I don't want my money to go to waste so I will be mixing this in with my new foundation I bought that I love and if you are interested in my updated drugstore foundation routine then CLICK HERE.

Hope you have a great weekend and enjoy yourselves! <3 Emily

Updated Foundation Routine!! (Drugstore)

Hey guys so before I get started I just wanted to say HELLO again haha...I know it has been awhile actually almost a year before I have posted on here but I plan on posting more frequently about life, beauty and what not. So anyways without further adue here is my updated drugstore foundation routine!!

So first thing I like to do is apply my moisturizer and I am in love with this product it is the Garnier Nutrisse Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel Cream for Normal/Combo skin. This retails for 5.99 and you can get it HERE. I apply this all over my face and then I let that sit and absorb into my skin which literally takes seconds and I just bought my second jar!
^ OBSESSED with this ^

Next I apply my concealer which is the Revlon Colorstay Concealer. This product retails for 9.59 and you can pick it up HERE. I use it in the sahde 02 Light. This is the first time I have ever used this product and so far I am enjoying it, but I can't tell you all of my thoughts on it just yet. Be on the lookout for the review. But I apply this to any redness I might have on my face which is currently my T-zone. I blend that all in with a beauty blender ( which mine is a knockoff but I love it)
^ Good Coverage ^
Now time for my foundation I am currently using Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 and I am in the shade Classic Ivory. This retails for 9.99 and you can purchase it HERE. This is my second bottle of this foundation but I kind of took a break from it and I definitely missed it! This has medium to full coverage and I will be doing a more indepth review of this product in a seperate blogpost probably coming out sometime this week. But anyways I will apply this anywhere that I feel needs more coverage and my cheeks because I don't have any redness on my cheeks and I will either blend that out with my beauty blender or I will blend it out with a Sonia Kashuk Buffing Brush (but that hasn't been my go to lately.)
^ Full Coverage ^

Then I go under my eyes with that same concealer again and I tap it out with my finger and then my beauty blender!

Now to set everything so it last all day!! I use the Loreal Paris True Match Naturale Mattifying Mineral Finish Powder. I am not over the moon about this product but it's getting the job done. Literally I went through my makeup collection and I found this and thought I would use it up. I like it and I don't if you would like an indepth review just let me know in the comments!! This product retails for 10.00 and you can purchase it HERE. I just tap that into my face with a large powder brush and I mostly put it on my T-zone and under my eyes.
^ Okay ^

That is pretty much it for my foundation routine, drugstore edition! I am currently listening to blank space by TSwift which is suprisngly good haha!! Anyways if you have any questions about anything here let me know in the comments! Love ya and I hope you have a great weekend loves!! <3 Emily

2013 VioletVoxBox Influenster Reveal!!

Hey guys I am so excited to be able to share this fun blogpost with you! Why don't you head on over to my YT channel CLICK HERE just in case you don't like reading and the video for my unboxing should be up on Sunday the 8th of December! But anyways lets go ahead and jump into this post!

So the first thing I saw at the top of my box was the Montagne Jeunesse Face Mask. These as we all might know are very affordable and most of they time they work well. The one that I recieved today was the Red Earth Clay Spa in the scent Pomegranate and Cinnamon, which I thought was perfect for Christmas. Now that I am looking over the packaging it says that it is a Clay Infused Fabric which means all you have to do is apply the fabric, which all in all it won't be as messy which is great! :D I have not tried it yet and I think I might just check it out tonight. This mask is also supposed to give you a deep cleanse and I could use that right now! :) These retail for $2.49.

The second thing I saw in my box was a SoyJoy bar, now I have tried this product and they do retail singularly for $0.99. The flavor I got was Cranberry. When I took my first bite it was good, it reminded me of a fig newton but then I took a second bite and it wasn't good at all. The packaging said it was moister and it definitely was not! It was very dry and crumbly. The bar contained 140 calories there was 4g of protein and 18g of Carbs and I believe there were only like 12g of Sugar, but I am pretty sure it was all natural sugar from the berries. Also this product is gluten free. I would recommend you try this if you are in a need of a quick snack.

The next thing in my VoxBox was the Not Your Mothers Clean Freak dry shampoo. I have tried this product a few times and so far I am liking it! It smells nice and clean and fresh and really does absorb the oils in your hair. If you have darker hair though BEWARE because it will show up white if you don't blend it in! This item retails for about $5.99.

This item I am not too impressed with it is the Goody Athletique Ouchless Headwrap. It retails for $6.00. Now this product does have a few pros, like that it is reversible and it also has that quick dry material. but it slides every where. So I don't really like that it moves all over the place, but I figured that would happen anyway. The color that I got was purple/gray. It is ok and probably good for working out. :)

The very last item that I was soooo excited to see in here was the Sally Hansen Triple Shine full size nail polish in the shade Dream Sequins. I purchased a few for christmas but I haven't been able to try them yet, since they are for christmas. But this color is a beautiful copper glitter shade. The glitter is fine and just gorgeous! The brush is exactly like the Sally Hansen 5 in 1 Salon Manicure. It is nice and wide and curved around the base of the brush so you can get back to the cuticle area! :) I have not swatched it or used it yet but I will soon! This retails for $4.99.

So that is everything in the Violet VoxBox for 2014. If you want to see upcoming reviews of these products then go check out my channel! :) Videos for all of the products will be coming soon!

Love ya! <3

Health & Fitness ~Food,Apps,Workouts & Music~

Hey Guys! So recently I just posted about my fitness and health on YouTube CLICK HERE TO WATCH IT! I posted it just because I wanted to be able to look back at it to see how I have progressed! :)

So first off to begin I guess I will talk about the Apps that I use.

The first I want to talk about is called My Fitness Pal. This my favorite because you can watch what you eat, track how much you have lost and all of that!! It is free on the app store which is another plus. When you first get the app it asks you a few questions to determine how many calories you should consume in one day. Then on the app you can add in what you have eaten for breakfast, lunch and dinner. As well as the snacks you have in between. You also add in how much water you have dranken for the day and as well as any excercises you might have done! It is very simple to use and is very helpful!

The next app I wanted to talk about is called Health Tips.

This one is great because it tells you a new tip everyday and some can be helpful to you. This one is again free on the app store. So for example the tip I have for today, 11/7/2013, says "Most people need 8 hours of sleep to rejuvenate and balance hormones - especially the hunger control hormones. Plan to sleep 7-8 hours nightly to help control binge eating and weight gain." So I really think it's neat to learn something new about health eveyday.

The last app that I use is called Jillian Michaels Weight Loss.

I really really like this one as well. Now there are 2 different versions of this on the app store. One is 2.99 and another is free. I just choose the free one. Now the difference between the two is that not everything is unlocked on the free one but honestly you don't really need to buy it. So when you first get the app you answer a few questions to determine the best workout plan for you. Then she gives you a summary and for example mine says " I know you're a Proportinate Shape and want to lose 25-50 lbs. I've created this workout plan just for you." Then below that are the different circuits she recommends! There are 5 different circuits she will recommend. Then when you click on one of the workouts there is a video and also step by step on how to do the workout. It also gives you some recipes to make as well! You can also access this online. CLICK HERE TO CHECK IT OUT

Apple Berry Banana Smoothie Recipe:

Ingredients:
3 ounces of apple juice
1 small banana
1 cup of ice cubes
1 cup of strawberries
1 scoop of protein powder

Preparation:
1. Pour ingredients into blender and blend on high until mixture is completely smooth and frothy.
2. Pour into a tall glass and enjoy!

This makes one serving and then it provides you with nutrion facts. This is 285 calories per serving.

Grilled Lemon Chicken:
1 teaspoon lemon zest
1/4 cup of basil, fresh or oregano, chopped
1 tablespoon mustard, dijon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup of oil, olive, extra virgin
1/4 cup olives, kalamata, pitted, halved
1 lemon, juice of
1 tablespoon honey
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1/4 teaspoon pepper, black ground
6 chicken, breast, boneless, skinless, 4 to 5 ounce halves
cooking spray

Preparation:
1. To prepare the dressing, whisk together the lemon zest and juice, the basil, honey, mustard, garlic and salt and pepper. Whisking constantly, add the oil in a slow stream. Set aside.

2. Place the chicken on a cutting board and lay a sheet of wax paper over it. Using the flat side of a meat mallet, pound the chicken so it is an even thickness. Place chicken in a shallow baking dish just large enough to hold it. Pour half of the dressing about 1/3 cup over the chicken and turn the breasts once or twice to coat. Cover the dish and refrigerate for atleast 2 hours if possible, and up to 8 hours turning atleast once.

3.Stir the olives into the remaining dressing and set aside until ready to serve.

4. If using a gas or charcoal grill, spray the grill with olive oil and preheat a medium-hot grill. If using a grill pan, spray with olive oil and heat over medium-high.

5. Discard the marinade and grill the chicken until it is opaque in the center, 5 to 6 minutes per side. Place the chicken on a platter and drizzle with the dressing. Serve.

Ok now for my workouts that I do.

Right now I am doing the 24 Day Challenge and I have been doing that for 5 days. All you do are crunches, leg raises and 1 second planks.
The picture is of the challenge I am currently doing! My cousin posted this on her facebook and I decided to do it!

I am also doing the 30 day squat challenge. I have been doing that for 3 days now. Basically your squats keep increasing as the days go by. My picture won't upload onto my blog. But you can google and find a picture for the challenge, that's all that I did. Sorry about that!

Also I am doing some of the things that are off of the Jillian Michaels app.

I wanted to throw in a bonus here in my blog, there is also another bonus in my video that isn't on here!

That bonus would be what music do I listen to. That would be using my pandora app and then clicking on either my bad girlfriend radio, nickelback radio or even linkin park radio. Anything that will keep me going and staying pumped.

The reason I am working out is not because I am not confident with myself I am very confident with myself. It is just because I love feeling great and I love feeling sore from the workouts. Sounds crazy I know but I just love feeling healthy. I used to be really overweight and I would have to wear a size 20 pants now I am  down to a size 14! :) Which is so much better, I have a lot more energy now too. Another reason I am doing it is because of my disease, I need to stay healthy in order to not get sick.

So that pretty much sum it all up! Thank you so much for reading!!! :) <3 Be sure to check out my video for more tips you didn't see on my blog post!

Coastal Scents Hot Pots + SWATCHES and MAC Dupes and Review!

Hey guys! If you haven't seen my haul video for this then CLICK HERE. If your here because of the haul video then welcome! lol If you'd like you can subscribe to my blog and all that fun stuff! But lets get on with the pictures, shall we? :) If you would like to purchase these then CLICK HERE! Ok lets get started dolls!

So first off to begin on the website it says that Hot Pots are a 1-inch metal pan and that If you get one of their customizable palettes they will magnetize to them! These normally retail for .1.95 each but right now they are on sale for .99 and shipping was only about 3.00!! So go and get you some eyeshadows girls!! :) <3

Ok so the first color I picked was Peachy Copper.
Out of all the ones I ordered this was one that I could have lived with out. It is on the sheer side and it also has a lot of fall out to it. It is very similar to the other one I got called Bright Copper which I will talk about later on. Overall I would'nt recommend purchasing this one but any of the others are fabulous!
Here is a swatch of Peachy Copper: These are taken outside on an overcast day. It does have a nice amount of pigmentation but it just had a lot of fall out issues. The color is very buildable. On the website the color is described as a shimmery light copper hue and that is exactly what it is. It does state on the website that it is Semi-Opaque, which is exactly right. Also someone down below in the review section said that it is very similar to MAC's expensive pink.

The next one I choose was Bright Copper:
So compared to Peachy Copper I would definitely recommend you getting this one. They are very similar but this one is more opaque and very smooth and easy to blend. This could also be a dupe for MAC's expensive pink. But I love this one and it is seriously one of my favorites!
So here is a swatch of Bright Copper. On the website they desscribe the color as a metallic copper hue with a shimmer finish. It is beautiful and prefect for the fall time. I can't explain enough to you guys how amazing they are!! :)

Moving on to Amber Bronze:
Again I love this color it is amazing. They describe this as a rustic bronze hue with a shimmer finish and it is super opaque. I think that this is a great bronze shade for fall and again it is so smooth! I love it.
So here is Amber Bronze swatched. Again all of my swatches were taken outside on an overcast day. But this just has a great bronze sheen to it and super opaque as you can see!

Next is Aluminum Taupe:
This is another one of my all time favorites! I love this color sooooo much. On the website it is described as a sark, metallic silver hue with a shimmer finish and I somewhat agree with that but this color isn't dark. It is like a metallic silvery taupe and I am just in love with it. It is just perfect for me haha! :)
So here it is swatched and I just love the satin finish it has. They describe it on the website as Semi-Opaque which I would agree with but these is no fall out issues for this one. The color is also very buildable! It is a great basic color to have in your collection, I think anyway!

Next is Sunset Gold:
This is a very opaque creamy color! I love it and super easy to blend. This gold is more on the orange side and it is again great for the fall time.
Here is Sunset Gold swatched. On the website it i described as a golden bronze hue with a shimmer finish. Which is how I would describe this color too. Very smooth and a really great color especially if you aren't a fan of a brighter yellow like 18 Karat Gold is, which I will be talking about next. Also on a few reviews about this color on the website they said that it was like MAC's Amber Lights and I do agree with that!

Ok so here is 18 Karat Gold:
As you can see compared to Sunset Gold it is a lot brighter and more of a yellow gold. This one again, very pigmented and no fall out. It is so smooth and I just really like this color fall.
Here it is swatched. It has a great metallic finish to it and they describe this color as a glistening gold hue and they also say that it is Semi-Opaque but it is extremely Opaque, haha. :) LOVE, it will really help to brighten up your eyes too!

Next is Wine Berry:
This is absolutely beautiful! I love this color again one of my top favorites. It is great for fall and just beautiful an very opaque. LOVE IT!!! I definitely recommend getting this, if you are looking for a color like this!
Here is Wine Berry swatched it isn't super bright and it is a perfect transition color for any burgundy or plum shades you might have. On the website they describe this as a magenta hue with a shimmer finish and it is exactly that. This is again very smooth and just absolutely beautiful!!

Next one which is a tie for the top spot (LOL) called Raisin Berry:
This is absolutely stunning and I just love it. This is my definition of fall in one eyeshadow right here! LOL It is a beautiful burgundy and VERY opaque.
Here is Rasin Berry swatched! I love it and very opaque as you can see. On the website they describe it as a maroon hue with a shimmer finish! I definitely recommend this if you are looking for the perfect burgundy.

Last but not least is Raspberry Tart and this is tied with Raisin Berry for my top fave:
I can't get enough of this color it is a gorgeous plum with hints of lilac and AHH I love it LOL! :) It is very opaque as well and again no fall out issues with this one either just absolutely perfect for a plum eye!
Here it is swatched! They describe this one as a reddish-violet hue with a metallic finish. They also say that it is Semi-Opaque but I disagree. It is super opaque. I definitely recommend this one for anyone looking for a great unique plum shade!

Sample in True Love Quad:
They sent me a sample of (from left to right) Camel Taupe, Wishy Washy, Berry Grey and Steel Grey

Here is Camel Taupe swatched:
It is a great medium taupe brown and I really like it, the color is very buildable. It is described on the website as a creamy, warm brown with a satiny finish. It is very smooth and I definitely recommend this for an everyday brown!

Here is Wishy Washy swatched:
Now this one I don't really recommend, it is extremely sheer. The formula is very smooth and on the website they describe it as a muted grey hue in a matte finish. They also state that it is Semi-Opaque but I found that the color wasn't very buildable.

Next is Steel Grey which is my favorite:
I love this color so much it is very Opaque and the formula is perfect, very smooth and blendable. On the website it is described as a deep metallic grey with a shimmer finish. I LOVE it and I am definitely getting the full size.

Finally we have Berry Grey:
This is Berry Grey swatched. It is nice and opaque but a bit sheer, the color is very buildable and I really like it. It is described on the website as a soft shimmery black with a subtle hint of burundy and brown undertones. I really like this and also recommend this as well. It is a great everyday black!

Tell me in the comments what your favorite shade was!! :) Thank you so much for your support and taking some time out of your day to read this!! :)

Review for Sicklacquers!

Hey guys. So I have a really fun review for you today! I uploaded a video HERE with live swatches! Check it out and subscribe to my channel if you aren't already! Love you guys so much, you are all amazing!

Ok so lets go ahead and get started with the review.

Peggie was kind enough to send me two polishes! I absolutely LOVE them and they are very unique. Seriously one of a kind polishes. They are 3-Free and also Indie Polishes, which I have never had Indie Polishes before and so far I LOVE them.

The first one she sent me is called Green Goblin. It is a sheer green gel based polish. This is supposed to  be sheer and I love it this way.
As you can see it has different hexagonal glitters throughout the polish. There are many different colors and sizes which is really cool!

The next one she sent me is:
Berries and Cream which I love this and I am currently rocking this on my nails right now! Check it out on my INSTAGRAM!
This is based on a very light lilac color, with again various shapes and sizes of hexagonal glitters. There are pink and purple glitters throughout this polish.

Here are the colors swatched:
These colors are swatched on a clear acrylic nail, two coats and without a top coat. From left to right: Green Goblin is swatched with a Kelly Green base, Green Goblin swatched by itself and Berries and Cream swatched by itself!

Here is the color I used as the Kelly Green Base:
I used Revlon's Polish in Posh which is a bright Kelly Green which is a cream finish.

These polishes retail for 7.00 each for 15ML or 3.50 each for 5ML
That is all for my review! If you would like to purchase these for yourself, check out Peggie's links down below! Thanks so much for reading! Love ya all!! <3
